Jeannice Chavez Colby, 79, of Monroe, passed away peacefully, October 22, 2017 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 31, 1938 in Shelley, Idaho to Joseph Murry and Almira LaRue Hall Chavez. She graduated from Richfield High School, the class of 1956.
Jeannice married the love of her life, Walter Don Colby, January 26, 1958 in Pioche, Nevada. The marriage was solemnized September 9, 2017 in the Payson Utah Temple.
She had a great love for her family. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, horseback riding and her "fur" babies (her dogs).
Surviving her is her husband of Monroe; daughters: JoDawn Colby Allen, Monroe; Dalores Jean Colby (Justin P.) Kurdupski, Gerlach, NV; Jeannine Colby (Tony Lester) Heaps, Farmington, NM; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Darlene (Donald) Collier, Santiquin; Betty Lurenz, Phoenix, AZ; Tonia K (Kerry, deceased) Barney, Monroe; Joseph Kent (Billie) Chavez, Grantsville; Phyllis Armstrong, Las Vegas, NV; LaReesa (Ray Alan) Baldwin, Beaver; Jolene (Vic) Maldanado, Orem; Katherine Jacobsen, Beaver.
Jeannice is preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Jeannine Chavez; grandson, James Don Crane.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Monroe 1st LDS Ward Chapel, 50 East 200 North. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 or at the ward chapel on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery.
