Jean Loch
Central Valley, Utah
Jean Deone Burr Loch, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away suddenly at home on February 27, 2023. Jean was born August 5, 1939 in Salina to George Marvin and Ila Throckmorton Burr. She grew up in Utah County attending schools in Springville. She married and became a mom and then a single mom at a young age. She did the best she could and made things work. She was very close to her two sisters and they helped each other where they could.
Jean loved to have company when her kids were growing up. She kept a pot of coffee on and had many friends drop by every day. She made friends wherever she went, until it got difficult for her to get around. She loved her family, dearly. She was from an era when love wasn’t expressed often … but as she got older she told all of us how proud she was of every one of her kids, and she loved each one. Each one is different in many respects, but each one has become a good solid citizen, with many accomplishments.
She married George Loch in 1991. Together they have 11 kids. They moved to the Las Vegas area, and Jean loved it there. She worked at different gift shops and restaurants. She also started making quilts. She made many quilts and if you visited her she would give you one.
In 2008 when George retired they downsized everything so they could travel in their RV. In 2022 they made their home in Richfield. She absolutely adored George! He was her everything.
She leaves behind her loving husband, George Loch; children: Debra (JR) Bittle, Dave (Eddie) Sorrells, Bob Sorrells, Jim (Lisa) Sorrells, Sandy (Elvin) Harward, Cheryl Ellison , George (Darlene) Loch, Tim (Meg) Loch, Nigel (Wonecka) Loch, Danny Loch and Tony Loch; 30 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both parents and all of her siblings: RaDaun Burr, Richard B Burr, Lois Gayle Burr Elies, Barbara LoAnn Burr Bevridge, and Don Marvin Burr; sons, Ronald Dean Hansen and Donald Bret Hansen and one grandson, Dustin Bret Hansen; former spouses: LeRoy Sorrells, Merlyn Swenson and Ronald Hansen.
