Jean Higginbotham

Ethel Jean Smith Higginbotham, age 90, passed away October 21, 2014, in Provo, Utah. She was born March 11, 1924, in Louviers, Colorado to Fred and Ethel Newmarch Smith. She married Ken "Hig" Higginbotham in 1944, while he was serving in the military in Denver. He preceded her in death February 14, 1998.
They resided in St. Anthony and Twin Falls, Idaho, as well as Bozeman, Montana, throughout their married life. Jean relocated to Richfield in 2001, after the death of her husband.
She was employed by Western Union during her younger years. Jean also worked in the photography industry and completed her working career delivering mail in rural Idaho.
Jean joined the LDS Church as a young mother and has faithfully fulfilled many callings throughout her life. She enjoyed visiting friends, family, and being at home. She loved to draw and was an accomplished artist. She loved to paint individual birthday cards for friends, children and grandchildren and displayed her work at an art gallery in Elsinore.
Jean is survived by her eight children and has 26 grandchildren and 46 great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 27, 2014 at 12:00 Noon in the Richfield 3 rd Ward, 985 South 400 West, where friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be on Tuesday, October 28 at 1:00 p.m. in the Jerome, Idaho Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
