Jay Alan Curtis

November 10, 1959 — April 8, 2019

Jay Curtis

Richfield, Utah

Jay Alan Curtis left this world in the early hours of Monday morning April 8, 2019 at his home in Richfield. The son of William F Curtis and Sherry G Hatfield, Jay was born on November, 10 1959 in Orem, the second of six children and the only boy.

Jay was loved by all that knew him and was known as a practical joker and tease, he being the only boy spent most of his youth teasing and tormenting his sisters, which later in life turned into a lot of teasing of the nieces and nephews.

Jay enjoyed his time as a short haul truck driver and was a talented operator, until his health forced him out of the truck. He had many wonderful qualities that blessed the lives of all who knew him. He was a gifted cook, talented writer and artist, and had an amazing ability to remember numbers which never failed him even in his last days. He was selfless and only ever thought of others’ happiness and needs.

Jay was the proudest father and he was Brian’s biggest fan watching him play football, wrestling, power lifting; and, being such a lover of music, he was really proud of Brian’s singing in the choir. In all aspects of Jay’s life he excelled in more than any other in his role as a father to his son Brian. There is no greater example to be found of the love and care that a father can have for his child. He found no greater joy than the joy he had in raising his son and instilling in him all the qualities he would need as a man.

Jay is survived by son, his pride and joy, Brian J Curtis; parents; sisters: Nancy Martell, JoAnn Burr, Janet (Stan) Adams, and Angie Maxfield. He was preceded in death by sister Sherlene Brown.
