    On the afternoon of December 7,2023 Janice June Cox, 80, took her final adventure home to the loving arms of her parents, boys, Mike and Tony and a baby girl that she spent a lifetime yearning to hold. Born August 7, 1943 in Murray, Utah, to Robert and Elizabeth Caldwell. Janice was number eleven of twelve children born to her parents.  
    Janice met the love of her life, her biggest supporter and her fiercest protector, Randall J. Cox. They were married on December 2, 1972 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Randall and Janice made their home in Sterling, where they raised seven kids, 31 grandkids, 58 great-grandkids , 4 great-great-grandkids and most of Sanpete County.  
    Her best days were spent outdoors, watching the hummingbirds and butterflies, with the sun on her face and the wind in her hair.  
    Of all the titles she held, Grandma was her favorite.  You could always find her with a barefoot baby, a dog in her lap and a smile on her face.  
    Grandma loved nothing more than an impromptu adventure, so it’s only fitting that she chose a beautiful, sunny winter day to take her final adventure, without saying goodbye.  
    Survived by her husband, Randall; fur babies: Kiara, Keely, Minnie; children: Jolynne McConnell, Lisa (Arturo) Aguayo, Lorrie (Wade) Hansen, Jan (Dane) Duncan, Josh (Dayna) Cox; brother, Dale (Shirley) Caldwell; sisters: Vivian (Niles) Halley, Erma (Pete) Conover, Annette (Gene) Openshaw; and sister-in-law, Joan Caldwell.  
    Preceded in death by her parents, boys: Mike and Tony Montoya, and infant baby girl Montoya; parents; brothers: Duane, Dick, Bobby, Larry, Jack; sisters, Elaine and Donna
    Funeral services will be held Friday, December 15, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sterling Ward Chapel, where friends may call Thursday evening from 6-7 p.m. or Friday morning from 11:30 - 12:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Sterling Cemetery.
