Janet Maylett
Manti, UT
Janet Eliason Maylett, 74, passed away peacefully in her home in Manti, Utah on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. She was surrounded by her family and experienced a long awaited reunion with her sweetheart Greg. Janet was born on January 31, 1948 in Mt Pleasant, UT to Orlando Leonard and Wanda Matson Eliason of Moroni, UT.
Janet was raised in Moroni where she participated in her community, church and school organizations. She graduated from North Sanpete High school, and went on to attend Snow College in Ephraim, UT. While at Snow College, she met a handsome “fella” at an Institute dance and later married him in the Manti Temple on September 14, 1968. Janet served in many capacities in the church and community, and later served with her eternal companion, Greg, as ordinance workers in the Manti Temple. They later served together in the Manti Temple presidency, and cherished those years serving together in the temple.
Janet will be remembered for her kind words, her welcoming smile, her witty humor, her ability to make you feel special and important and the way she loved her family. Her love for Greg and her children was apparent in everything she did, and the eternal family that they created was the thing she valued most in this life. To those in the community she will be remembered as a dear friend, a kind neighbor, and a diligent servant of the Lord. But to those she loved most, she will always be remembered as a loving grandma, mom and sweetheart who greeted them with a warm hello, a hug and a sweet treat to share.
Janet is survived by her children: Jason (Cindalyn) Maylett, Tricia (Gary) Cox, Jedd (Sandi) Maylett, Amy (Dave) Braithwaite , Haylee (Nate) Johnson; siblings, Kathryn Eliason and Frank (Becky) Eliason. She was loved deeply by her 19 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and her eternal sweetheart Gregory Martin Maylett.
