Janet James Lund, born March 7, 1935, passed away May 11, 2018, surrounded by her family. She fought a long and valiant battle with Alzheimer’s disease, a form of Dementia.

Janet is the daughter of John L. and Ruth Baker James. She was born in Fayette, Utah. She graduated from Gunnison Valley High School and Sevier Valley Technology School with a cosmetology certificate.

Janet married the love of her life, Robert Dale Lund, 64 years ago, on July 29, 1953 in the Manti Temple. Together they raised 3 wonderful children, Connie (deceased), Larry and Steven.

Janet was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has served in various callings, many of which included providing music. She loved to play the piano and share her talents with others. Janet had a passion for genealogy. She spent years researching her ancestors and making sure their temple work was complete.

Janet loved her many hobbies, sewing, woodworking, painting, and being outside. She spent many hours working in her yard. She always had beautiful flowers and a large garden that produced many vegetables. She enjoyed sharing the benefits of her garden with family and friends. A favorite pastime, for both Janet and Dale, was spending time in the mountains having steak roasts with friends. Janet also loved being in the kitchen. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed making sure that the food presentation was as good as the taste. By profession, she was a cosmetologist and in the basement of her home was her hair salon. She loved visiting with many people as she cut and styled their hair.

Janet served as Sanpete County Recorder. She was also president of the Utah Associations of County Recorders from 1983-1984.
