Janet Farnsworth Dimick, 99, of Monroe, Utah, passed away May 25, 2014, in Richfield, Utah. She was born April 25, 1915, in St. George, Utah to Franklin Wilson and Hazen Bracken Farnsworth. She spent most of her childhood in southern Utah before her family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where she attended high school and met her future husband, Royal Harold Dimick. She and Royal were married on March 22, 1932 in Las Vegas. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on April 22, 1947. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1985.

Royal and Janet moved to Oregon during World War II and raised their four children there. After her children were grown, Janet worked in the retail market business as a sales person and then as an office manager until she and her husband retired and moved to Utah.

Janet was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding many positions during her life. She and her husband were instrumental in the organization of the first branch of the LDS Church in their home town of Albany, Oregon where Royal served for many years as the first Branch President. She was also an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and was a docent in the Pioneer museum in St. George.

Janet loved to travel with her husband in their RV and was always on the go. She and Royal always took their children on camping trips when they were young and then organized many camping trips with their grown children and their families.

Royal and a daughter, Janet Virginia Geer (Irwin W.) preceded her in death.

She is survived by three of her children: Shirley Jean Griffiths (Roen), Salem; Delbert Royal Dimick (Janeen), Monroe; and Franklin Edward Dimick (Ethel), Monroe; 20 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 49 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Monroe 1 st Ward chapel, 50 East 200 North, where friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Salem City Cemetery in Salem, Utah at 2:30 p.m. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
