James Warner

Our beloved father, James Robert “JR” Warner, 89, passed away peacefully February 10, 2012 at the Richfield Rehabilitation and Care Center. He was born August 8, 1922 in Richfield, the son of William LeRoy and Martha Theurer Warner.
JR served proudly in the US Navy in both the Second World War, and Korean Conflict, from which he was honorably released. He attended the Cedar City Branch Agricultural College, and the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science.
He was known for his humor, and his friendliness to all. He loved fishing in Fishlake, where the Warner family once owned a shore-front cabin. He was one of the first DJ’s at KSVC, and worked at the Warner Funeral Home (now Magleby Mortuary) in Richfield.
He leaves behind four children: Margaret Langman, Salt Lake City; Robert Bryce (Lynette) Warner, Glenwood; Catherine (Jim) Farrell, California; and Maureen (Von) Callister, Salt Lake City; 14 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; brother, John Warner, Glenwood; and two sisters, Carroll Fullmer, Elsinore; and Martha Mae Ricks, Bountiful.
Preceded in death by parents; brothers, William, Glen T. (Millie); sister, Janell; and infant sister, Barbara.
A celebration of his life will be held Friday, February 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Venice Ward building. Graveside services will be held in the Richfield Cemetery with military rites by the V.F.W.
