James Ervin Larson

James Ervin Larson 1927-2018

James Ervin Larson, age 90, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018, in St. George, Utah. He was born on December 31st, 1927 to Ervin Henry and Frances Marie (Parker) Larson, in Elsinore Utah. He attended South Sevier High School and the University of Utah. In 1946, he married Beth Nebeker. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple, and cherished 67 years of marriage. Together they raised seven children. He was a dedicated and loving husband and father, and found great joy in his posterity.

During his career he worked for Mountain Fuel, the Welfare Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mortgage Investment Co. and Pepsi. He was meticulous and hardworking, and instilled an appreciation of work in his children. As an avid gardener, he loved sharing the fruits of his labors with family and neighbors. His legacy is his faith in God and Jesus Christ. He served faithfully in many church callings, and quietly and humbly went about helping others.

He is survived by seven children: Greg (Maya) Larson, Perry Larson, Margo Jacobson, Mitzi (Roy) Beard, Ronda (Randy) Snow, Dirk (Amy) Larson, Jodi (Russ) Garza; 26 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren; sister, Joan Tuft.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Beth Larson; parents; brothers Dean, Scott, Bryant, Newell, Joseph and Morgan; sisters Marjorie, Joyce, and Janice; grandsons Guy Larson and Sam Jacobson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, 50 South 100 West, Richfield, Utah where friends may call from 11:00 a.m. -12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Elsinore, Utah Cemetery.
