James “Jimmy” Butcher

James “Jimmy” Deloy Butcher, 59, of Sterling, passed away at his home on March 10, 2023. He was born November 7, 1963 in Salt Lake City to Marvin LeRoy and Elizabeth Colledge Butcher.
Jim grew up in his family home in Riverton. He married Brenda Montoya, his first love, on February 26, 1981. They had 3 amazing children: Ashley, Brandon, and Rachelle. He was the proud grandpa to 11 beautiful grandkids. The current love of his life was Jennifer Thurston.
He was a respected and well-loved man. Everyone who had the opportunity to meet him knew he would do anything for anyone. Jim was a true tradesman, working hard and doing whatever it took to take care of his family. He currently worked for the town of Sterling where he took extreme pride in his work. He loved working for the town and helping his community. He was a funny, hardworking, honest, selfless, and compassionate person. Hunting anything was his favorite, especially if it was with his kids and grandkids. He loved spending time in the mountains and knew every road and trail in 6-Mile canyon.
He is survived by his children: Ashley Butcher, Ephraim; Brandon (Kara) Butcher, Ephraim; and Rachelle Outzen (Bryan Wolfe), Manti; 11 grandchildren; and siblings: Dennis (Tish) Butcher, Ricky (Lisa) Butcher, Darren (Terri) Butcher, LouAnn Vasquez (Lynn); sister-in-law, Wanda Butcher. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Danny Butcher and David Butcher.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sterling Ward Chapel. Visitation with family will be held prior to services from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Sterling Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
