James "Jimmy" Hardy Jarvis III, 79, of Manti, Utah, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, February 20, 2015. Before passing, he got out of his chair and sat down in Mom’s chair, to feel closer to her, as he often did. Oh, the joy and love the greeted him that morning as he passed through the veil to the loving arms of his Savior, parents, wife and two sons!
Jimmy came into this world in Tampa, Florida at 2:02 on the morning of October 14, 1935. After delivering Jimmy, the doctor sat him on a table, not thinking he would make it. A nurse stepped in, picked him up and took him to another doctor for a second opinion. It was a miracle he survived as he weighed only 1 lb. 14 oz. Jimmy’s father was James Hardy Jarvis Jr., and his mother was Grace Eloise Hemrick. Jimmy has two brothers, Walter James and Jonathan Jarvi,s and a sister, Judith Gavilan.
Jimmy was a faithful member of the LDS Church and the Manti 3
rd
Ward. He served two missions with his wife to the Orlando, Florida and Chicago, Illinois temples. When they moved to Manti he served as an ordinance worker in the Manti Temple.
Jimmy was the patriarch of a family consisting of four sons: Keith, Kent, Leon and Hardy and one daughter, Carolyn. He was grandfather to eight grandchildren: Miranda, Nicole, Stephanie, Alex, Laura, Megan, Brian and Amanda; six great-grandchildren.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janet Sue Frame; and two sons: Leon and Hardy.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the Manti Stake Center where friends may call from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Manti Cemetery.
