Jim Forsey
Richfield, Utah
Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, James K. Forsey, 84, returned home to his Heavenly Father on May 5, 2016 in Provo from causes incident to age. Born May 2, 1932 in Richfield, Utah, Jim was the only son of James G. and Lillian Kyhl Forsey.
A master storyteller, Jim often shared his fond memories of growing up in the town he loved with his parents and three sisters. As a young man he enjoyed sports, hunting, and fishing. He passed on his love for the outdoors to his family and spent many hours at the lake or hunting with his family and friends. In high school, he played on the RHS basketball team when they won the state championship. He graduated from Brigham Young University in business. He was a devoted BYU fan and life-long Cougar Club member which allowed him to attend most football and basketball games. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a 1 st Lieutenant where he assisted in atomic bomb testing. It was while stationed in Myrtle Beach, SC, that he met his sweetheart, Joyce. They were sealed in the LDS Manti Temple in 1956 and raised their five children in Richfield. For many years he carried on the family business, 4-C Ice Cream and Candy Company, and later owned the Richfield Block Plant. He also had business interests with Tel America and Executive Benefits. Jim was a proud, life-long resident of Richfield and served in the community as a member of the Rotary Club, City Council, and other associations. He is a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served humbly in many church callings.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Joyce, and his children: Craig, Angela (Brent) McLaws, Jerry (Marleigh), Allyson (Ted) Passey, and Mark (Traci); he also leaves behind 21 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and daughter-in-law Kristi Forsey. He is also survived by his sisters: Marcille Topham, Anna Snedegar, and Phyllis Horne, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends whom he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law Lisa Forsey. We are so grateful for this wonderful man who has left a legacy of service, kindness, faith, and love!
