Our loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, James Melton Dudley, Sr., 68, passed away September 15, 2012 in Green River, Utah. He was born February 10, 1944 in Grand Junction, Colorado. His parents, Hyrum and Alice Cheney Dudley, later moved their family to Utah. He married Patricia Lee Powell, August 16, 1971 in Salt Lake City.
After graduation, James went into the Navy during Viet Nam. He has been married to the love of his life, Patricia, for 41 years. He was an avid bowler, golfer and wood crafter. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. He was loved by his family and friends; he will be missed.
Survived by wife, of Central Valley; children: Kimberlee (Raymond) Pears, Tennessee; James (Roxanne) Dudley Jr., St. George; Katherine (Richard) Nielson, Richfield; Michael (Chanta) Dudley, Richfield; 17 grandchildren; mother, Alice Dudley, Joseph; siblings: Carma (Dennis) Rosequist, Glenwood; Ella (Randy) Christiansen, Fillmore; Ellen (Skip) Thompson, Milford, Steve Dudley, Joseph.
Preceded in death by father; brothers: Dan, Donald; nephews: Ruston, Joshua.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 12:00 Noon in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, 50 South 100 West, Richfield. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary, Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Joseph City Cemetery with Military Rites by the Monroe American Legion Post #37 and the Utah Honor Guard.
