James Roger "Jay" Dale passed away peacefully at home on December 14, 2017 in Millcreek, Utah at the age of 90.
Jay is survived by his children: Gordon (Lisa) Dale, Julie Butler and Jan (Jeff) Robinson of Salt Lake City; 9 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Jay is preceded in death by his wife Betty. Dad has missed her with every breath he took since her passing.
Jay was born on August 12, 1927 in Salt Lake to William and Mary Dale. Jay served an LDS mission to Uruguay, traveling by ship to South America. He graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art. He married Betty, his sweetheart in August, 1956. Dad proudly served in the Navy, spent many years working for Beneficial Life Insurance, and was an avid fan of the U of U Athletics.
At Jay’s request, a grave side service for family and friends will be held Friday, December 22, 2017 at 12:00 Noon in the Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South in Sandy, Utah with military honors.
The family wishes to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at St. Marks Hospital and Brighton Health Care. Our Dad was professionally and compassionately taken care of, we sincerely appreciate it.
