Jake Huffman Bagnell, 93, passed away September 16, 2014 in Panguitch. He was born January 1, 1921 in Coalville to William and Gertrude Huffman Bagnell. He married Peggy Lorraine Miller, February 22, 1958 in Las Vegas. The marriage was solemnized in The St. George Temple on December 4, 1994.
Jake served in the Navy as a carpenter during WWII. He helped rebuild the USSHornet after it was bombed by a kamikaze pilot.
A member of the LDS Church, Jake will be remembered for the countless acts of service.
Jake is survived by his wife; children: Jacob (Susan) Bagnell, Alpine, CA; Jerry Bagnell, Panguitch; Dale (LouAna) Bagnell, St. George; 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Deborah Robin; daughter-in-law, Pam Bagnell; grandson, Nathan Hacker; brothers: Elman, Kenneth, Lee, Grant, Earl; sisters: Alameda, LaVon, Valiate, Ethel.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Panguitch 1 st Ward Chapel, 195 West 200 South, where friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Panguitch Cemetery with military rites by the Panguitch American Legion Post #25 and Utah Honor Guard.
