Jack Wesley Sargent, Jr.
Manti, UT

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Jack Wesley Sargent, Jr. peacefully went home to his Heavenly Father on March 28, 2012.  He was born on March 16, 1947 to Jack Wesley Sargent and Doris Mildred Foulger in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He attended Highland High School and the University of Utah.
He married Shauna Lee Gray on April 11, 1966 and raised his family in Rose Park and then Sandy, Utah.
He followed in the footsteps of his father and in 1969 became a Salt Lake City Firefighter, an occupation that he thoroughly loved and put his whole heart into.  He was an active member of the LDS Church and held many callings in the Sunday School, Elders Quorum Presidency, and High Priests Quorum, but his most enjoyable job was working with the boys as the scout master.  At the age of 15 he earned his Eagle Scout award and 5 palms.
Jack moved his family to Manti, Utah in 1994 where he served on the Manti ambulance and the volunteer fire department. He retired from the SLC Fire Dept. in 2001.
Jack will be terribly missed by his wife, 7 children, 27 grandchildren and one great grandchild.  He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his wife Shauna and his children, David (RaeLynn), Jacquie (Steve) Brunyer, Cristi (Jay) Timmons, Tricia (David) Barnes, Jason (Ana), Kelli (Jerry) Cox, and Branden (Brittanie).
Graveside services and interment will be held on Monday, April 2, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Manti City Cemetery with honors provided by the Manti American Legion Post 31 and the SLC Fireman Honor Guard.  Friends may call on Monday from 11:30-12:30 at the Manti Stake Center, 555 East Union.  Funeral Directors:  Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.  Online guestbook at maglebymortuary.com
