Ivan Earl Mills, 95, passed away February 12, 2015 in Richfield. He was born July 12, 1919 in Joseph to Joseph Earl and Rosetta Hampton Mills. He married Weitta Jensen on October 7, 1938 in Elsinore. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. She preceded him in death November 8, 2008.
Ivan was a life long farmer. He loved nothing more than watching things grow. Very strong in water conservation, he served on the county Soil Conversation Committee and ASC. He was a county commissioner for two terms.
Family was important to Ivan. He loved being with his grandchildren, taking them camping and swimming in the river.
Active in the LDS Church serving in many capacities.
He is survived by his children: Ronald (Loraine) Mills, Margie Rich, Penny (Blake) Walbeck; 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ginger Mills.
Also preceded in death by parents; siblings: Grace (Clark) Lee, Genieva (Ralph) Warenski, Theron (Nola) Mills, Floyd Mills; brother-in-law, Ralph Nelson.
The family appreciates the special friends Ivan made while he was at Stonehenge. They appreciate the loving care he received there.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the Monroe 1 st Ward Chapel, 49 East 200 North. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Magleby Mortuary, Richfield and Saturday from 10:30 -11:30 a.m. at the ward chapel in Monroe. Burial will be in the Joseph Cemetery.
