Ila Saxton Iverson, 81, of Fayette, passed away on December 12, 2018. She was born on July 17, 1937 in Murray, UT to Warren Lafaette and Myrle Julian Saxton.
Ila was raised in American Fork, UT where she attended local schools. She married her sweetheart, Orlin K Iverson, on October 9, 1953 in American Fork. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Ila worked as a school lunch cook in the Alpine School District for many years. She took her love of cooking home with her where she prepared delicious meals and treats. Ila and Orlin spent time together as the caretakers for the Outdoor Education Center at Scoffield (Clear Creek). She taught her children a love of the outdoors where they loved camping. Ila’s greatest treasures were her 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was loved by all her family.
She is survived by her husband, Orlin; children: Arlene (Dale) Grace, Monroe, UT; Kathleen (Jay) Jensen, Lehi, UT; Kent John Iverson, American Fork, UT; sister: Kathryn Proctor. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Marty K; brother, John Saxton; daughter-in-law, Judie Iverson.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fayette Cemetery.
