Ida Ann Morrill Newby, 74, of Monroe passed away April 3, 2018. Ann was born on June 11, 1943 in Marysvale, UT to Clarence H and Ada Howes Morrill. Ann married Marell B Newby on November 25, 1966 in Las Vegas, NV. The marriage was later solemnized June 12, 1999 in the Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2002.

Ann loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked several years as a school lunch lady for the Sevier School District. She loved life to the fullest and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and the great outdoors with her family. In Ann’s younger years she was an avid member of the Monroe riding club and loved riding horses with her family and friends. She also was a member of the Monroe Fireman’s Auxiliary, where she volunteered many service hours.

Ann was and active member of the LDS Church and enjoyed all of her many church callings.

She is the mother of Mike Newby, Spring Creek, NV; Kathy Madsen (Brett Porter), Central Valley; Todd (Heather) Newby, Monroe; Kimberly (Cody) Payne, Monroe. She is also survived by her step-children: MackRay (Jeanine) Newby, Michael (Leila) Newby, Von Dell Newby; 22 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren & 1 great-great-granddaughter; and her siblings: Cleora Peterson, Dale (Shirley) Morrill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marell; sister, Thelma (Ellsworth) Pope; brothers, Denzil (Lottie) Morrill, Steve Morrill, Harold Morrill; brother-in-law, Rollo Peterson and granddaughter, Shenna Newby.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 12:00 Noon in the Monroe Stake Center. Viewings will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Magleby Mortuary and prior to services at the church on Friday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Monroe Cemetery.
