Hulon “Hugh” Dwayne Chapman, 75, of Joseph, passed away April 27, 2023 at his home in Joseph. He was born Frebruary 18, 1948 in Fort Worth, TX to Hulon Cabot and Willie Mae Buck Chapman. He married Roberta Jane Wilson; she preceded him in death. He married Sandra Bridges December 28, 2016 in Monroe, UT.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; sons: Daniel (Erin) Chapman and Larry (Terri) May; brother, Guy Chapman; step-children: Amber (Seth) Ellis, Robert Callery, Matthew Howard; 5 grandchildren and 10 step-grandchildren.
After graduating high school he joined the Marines in 1968, serving two tours in Vietnam. The first tour was his, and the second was in place of his brother. He went to Kirkwood Community College to become a Physical Therapist Assistant and did that until retirement. He had a passion for doing photography for family and friends. He became a Mason and eventually joined the Shriners, and worked his way to being a member of the Scottish Rite. He had a great passion for genealogy work.
Friends may call for viewing at the Magleby Mortuary on Thursday, at 10:00 a.m. Cremation services to follow in the Magleby Mortuary Crematory. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Monroe Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
