H.R. Peterson, 76, of Richfield, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and neighbor, peacefully passed away at his home on September 18, 2018. He was born in Homer, Nebraska on August 18, 1942 to Keith and Bernice Charlesworth Peterson. He married Cordy Burton on October 4, 1962 in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. She preceded him in death, July 12, 2011.

H.R. retired from Utah State Correctional Facility in Gunnison, Utah. He loved farming and spending time with his family and friends. He spent his last years traveling with his friend, Darlene Borg. He loved attending his grandchildren’s activities and supporting them.

H.R. is survived by his children: Brenda (Reinhard) Haidenthaller, West Jordan; Sherry (Don) Morrison, Monroe; Steven (Maradee) Peterson, Richfield; 12 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren; siblings: LeAnn (Frank) Fuller, Sue Erickson, Don W (Ramona) Peterson. He was also preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren: Jay Dee Haidenthaller, Jessie Ann Ashworth, Levi C. Hobbs; brother, Steven K. Peterson; brother-in-law, Mike Erickson.

He will be loved and missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Richfield Utah Stake Center, 159 North 400 West. Friends may call Thursday evening at the Magleby Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. or at the stake center from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
