Helene Amelia Blake Jones, 93, passed away December 29, 2020 at her home in Central Valley. She was born July 30, 1927 in Deseret, Utah to Samuel Ellicock and Alice Laurel Moody Blake. She married Charles Leonard Jones, June 20, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple by Elder Spencer W. Kimball. He preceded her in death, August 25, 2001. She married Hugh Bradley, February 2, 2008 in Payson, Utah. Later divorced.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Helene served in many positions, including serving a stake mission with her husband, Charles. She taught Gospel Doctrine classes and taught seminary with Gerald Lund. One of her favorite callings was ward and stake camp director.
Helene played the trumpet and the harmonica from a young age. She played in junior and senior high school bands and orchestras and in many parades and social events.
She was active in Daughters of Utah Pioneers and was in leadership positions in many camps she belonged to in Utah and California. After moving to Utah, she enjoyed volunteering at the Peteetneet Museum and going to the Payson Seniors where she also learned to play the organ. She taught harmonica and played the trumpet in the Payson City Sunday Evenings in the Park with a senior band.
She also enjoyed fishing, archery and was a member of the NRA.
Survived by her children: Charlene Renee (William) Calcaterra, San Dimas, CA; Connie Rae (Kim) Cody, Monroe; Brent C. Jones, Payson; Barry K (Tammy) Jones, Norco, CA; Cheryl Kay Blair (Andy Tucker), Glendale, AZ; Bryce D. (Jennifer) Jones, Phoenix, AZ; 6 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Neil S. (Dee Dee) Blake, MO.
Preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Peter Calcaterra.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel where friends may call from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Live streaming of the services and online guestbook can be found at www.maglebymortuary.com under Helene’s obituary.
