After a courageous battle with cancer, Havolyn Hansen, 79, passed away at his home on June 2, 2011 with his devoted wife and daughter at his side.
Havolyn was born February 20, 1932 in Elsinore, to Omery John and Anna Marie Hansen. He was the third of 13 children.
He served his country proudly in the USAF during the Korean Conflict and later married Francis Kaye Jensen, November 28, 1958. They were happily married for 52 years and together raised four daughters. Their life was spent building a successful farming and ranching business.
This hardworking, soft-spoken man started driving a tractor at the age of seven and didn’t park it until he was 76 years old. He was strong enough to wrestle a cow and gentle enough to cradle a baby. He was patient, kind and persistent. He was devoted to his family and sacrificed for them his entire life. His happiest days were spent relaxing at the cabin on the west mountain, traveling the world with his family, puttering in the garden and restoring vintage tractors with his brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Kaye; daughters: Leslie Kaye (Lane) Abraham, Michelle (EJ) Corry, Melanie (Dan) Owen, Lynette (David) Jorgensen; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Marvin (Carma) Hansen, James (Carol) Hansen, Sterling (Blanche) Hansen, Forrest (Kaylyn) Hansen, Rodney (Lori) Hansen, Ruth (Ronald) Shaw, LaJeanne (Rex) Rowley, Virginia (Gerald) Williams, Darlene Peterson, LaNeeta (Donald) Sudweeks. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Omery John and Conrad; granddaughter, Joy Jorgensen; and great-grandson, Drew McWilliams-Jorgensen.
A special thank you to his loving sister LaNeeta, for her devoted care.
