Our beautiful, loving mother, grandmother, and friend, Gwendolyn Nebeker King passed through the veil July 30, 2011 in Kaysville, Utah at the age of 96. Gwen was born at the Nebeker Ranch in King's Meadow Canyon on August 16, 1914, the daughter of George W. and Emily Millett Nebeker. Gwen graduated from Richfield High School and attended Snow College. She married Cecil Mason King, a prominent livestock rancher December 28, 1939. They were sealed in the Manti LDS Temple January 24, 1940. Cecil passed away in 1994.

Gwen and Cecil resided in Richfield where they raised their family of two sons and two daughters. Gwen was very active in civic, church and social activities. She especially enjoyed the DUP, Cultural Club and her family home evening group. She enjoyed traveling and seeing the world. She loved writing poetry. Whenever a thought or incidence occurred she would write a poem about it. She used her poetry to enhance many of the public speeches she was called upon to give. Gwen was an avid reader. She read countless books. She enjoyed painting, ceramics, crafts, and compiling numerous family scrapbooks. These wonderful histories are a treasure to her posterity. She had a wonderful memory which lasted through her 96 years. She previously worked at Manning's Drug, the Olive Shop, the Richfield Clinic, and as receptionist for visiting orthopedic specialists from Salt Lake City retiring at age 83. She had a great work ethic. She was young at heart and never stopped growing and learning. She was a great example to her children and grandchildren.

Gwen had a firm testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She loved studying the scriptures, and especially loved teaching the Gospel. She was an ordinance worker in the Manti LDS Temple for 10 years. She strongly believed in the power of prayer and was a woman of great faith. She was the recipient of great blessings through her faithful pioneer ancestors. She was always in the service to her Savior, her family, and her fellowmen.

She is survived by her four children: Myrna Myatt, Ft. Collins, Co.; Mitchel (Beth), Layton; Carolyn (Stan), Kaysville; Russell (Gail), Vernal; 14 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.
