Gwendolyn "Gwen" Jensen Magleby, 80, passed away peacefully in her home on January 6, 2019 after a 5 year battle with cancer. Gwen was born in Richfield on July 6, 1938 to Vance Kermith and Allie DeLean Anderson Jensen. She married her high school sweetheart, Alma Gray Magleby, on September 11, 1958 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Gwen’s greatest joy came from her love and commitment to her family. She served her church and community in many callings and positions. Leadership roles included president of the Richfield Jayceettes, Junior Culture Club president, Richfield Dance Club president, and director of the Miss Richfield Pageant. Gwen is a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Utah Funeral Directors Association.
Gwen contributed to the family business in a number of capacities, but she cherished most the years of assisting Alma with funerals, forming many friendships along the way. She loved her association with the many ladies she played cards with throughout the years. Gwen held her friends, both old and new, very dear to her heart.
She is survived by her husband, Alma, Richfield; two daughters and one son: Shelly (John) Hawley, Bakersfield, CA; Kim (Drew) Memmott, Dover, MA; Kelly Alma (Judy) Magleby, Richfield; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Pam Jensen, Mary Nebeker, and Barbara (Von) Wayman.
