Greg Floyd Richards

May 18, 1950 — February 2, 2013

Our dad, son, brother, and friend, Gregary Floyd Richards, 62, is finally reunited with his sweetheart, Paula, after almost 20 years apart. Greg passed away February 2, 2013 in Panguitch.

Greg was born May 18, 1950 in Panguitch to Floyd David and Alaska Smith Richards. He married Paula Shafer on July 10, 1971, she preceded him in death.

A life long resident of Tropic, with the exception of about 10 years in the oil fields of Nevada. He spent the rest of his career working for the National Park Service at Bryce Canyon with a 10 year stint at Capital Reef. He worked in all areas of the maintenance division. He was most proud of doing restoration work on the Bryce Canyon Lodge and other locations in the Rocky Mountain West.

He really enjoyed working with the young adults doing preservation on the Bryce Canyon Lodge. He loved his grandchildren, and they will miss him greatly. He is loved much and will be greatly missed by all.

His survivors include his children: Kasey Greg Richards, Enoch; Kasidi (Steve) Richards Floyd, Henrieville; mother, Alaska Richards, Henrieville; brothers and sisters, Thomas (Melody) Richards, Tropic; NaKole (Rick) Crofts, Orderville. He is also preceded in death by his father, Floyd.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 12:00 Noon in the Tropic LDS Ward Chapel where friends may call from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Henrieville Cemetery.
