Glenys Peterson

January 21, 1921 — August 18, 2011

Glenys Carling Oldroyd Peterson, 90, passed away August 18, 2011 in Richfield and entered into her heavenly home. She was born January 21, 1921 in Fillmore to Joseph and Elizabeth Arvilla Walch Carling, the youngest of 12 children.

Glenys was an active member of the LDS Church, faithfully serving wherever she was called. She and Pete served as ordinance workers in the Provo Temple. Later in life, she and her friends would attend the Manti Temple as often as health would allow. She was a member of the Daughter’s of the Utah Pioneers.

She was known for her gentle ways, her kind smile and cooking skills.

She is survived by daughters Elizabeth Bossard of Rexburg, ID and Julie (Dave Moky) Christensen of Richfield; 31 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Preceding her in death are her parents; son-in-law, Alan Bossard and 11 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, 50 South 100 West, where friends may call on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.

She married Milan T. Oldroyd in the Manti Temple on May 16, 1941. He preceded her in death February 17, 1970. She married Vernon "Pete the Plumber" Peterson, May 12, 1983 and he preceded her in death August 31, 1986.
