Glenna Allred Hansen, 87, passed away February 20, 2012 at her home in Centerfield. She was born in Centerfield, May 21, 1925, to Glen R and Dora Johanna Allred. She attended elementary school in Centerfield and high school in Gunnison. Her senior year she was Student body Vice President. She married Junior Lester Hansen on February 2, 1946 in Centerfield. Later their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple.

She worked at Christensen’s Department Store in Gunnison, and also as a cook at the elementary and high school in Gunnison. She also worked for several years for Melva Lund at Lund’s Drive Inn in Gunnison.

Glenna had many hobbies. She loved sewing, crocheting afghans’ and dollies, baking, reading, doing genealogy and playing softball. She also loved to dance. The food that she loved to eat was Cheetos and tomatoes.

She was a member of the LDS Church. She loved attending her meetings, especially Sacrament Meeting. She also loved working in the Primary as a teacher. The last few years when she was unable to attend church because of health reasons, she couldn’t wait for the boys to come to her home and administer the Sacrament to her.

Glenna faced many challenges with her health throughout her life. Despite all of her struggles, she served as an excellent example of never giving up. She had a fun sense of humor that could keep you laughing and smiling for hours. Her door was always opened to everyone. Anyone that knew Glenna knew she had a heart of gold. Her greatest love in her life was her family. She will be deeply missed, but her beautiful spirit will remain in all those she touched throughout her lifetime.
