Glenna May Smith Ames,77, of Joseph, Utah, passed away January 24, 2019, in Provo, Utah.She was born August 30, 1941 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Glenn C. and Lillian May Webb Smith. She married Keith Nelson, they later divorced. She married Harold Carl Ames in Ely Nevada May 8, 1972. They have enjoyed 47 wonderful years together and raised a great family.

Glenna loved being with her grandchildren teaching them to bake, sew, scrapbook and paint. Glenna was a very talented in everything she did. "She was a DIY’er before it was a thing". She was the matriarch of the family and made sure family traditions were upheld and carried on each year.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Carl Ames, Joseph; Children, Thauna Rose Nelson Kazakevicius, Centerville; Homer Sheldon (Bobbi) Ames, Central Valley; Julie Ann Ames; Jeanne Arlene Ames, Richfield; James Michael (April) Ames, Joseph; Jeffery Lynn (Sarah) Ames, Glenwood; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Fred Wayne (Beth) Smith; Brenda Fay (Dan) Ames; Colleen Kay (Richard) Forness; Debora Day Smith; Connie Ray (Dave) Barlow; Bert Jay Parks; Troy Scott (Sue) Parks

Preceded in death by parents, Glenn C. Smith and Lillian May Whiting; son, Harold Carl Ames Jr.; brothers, Kenneth Gayle Smith and Gary Dean Smith.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 12 Noon in the Joseph LDS Ward Chapel in Elsinore. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m and at the ward chapel in Elsinore on Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Elsinore Cemetery.
