Glenn Alan Donaldson, 72, of Richfield, passed away on August 16, 2012 at the Community Living Center in Centerfield. Alan was born on April 11, 1940 to Adrian Glen and Clara Anderson Donaldson formerly of Spring City.
Alan was an active member of the LDS Church and held several callings, including secretary, ward clerk, home teacher and Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time fishing, camping and hunting. Alan loved to read western novels and watch western movies. He loved listening and dancing to country music. Dad loved spending time with his family. Alan and his wife, Barbara Gail Peterson were married on July 8, 1960 in the Manti LDS Temple. They just celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. Together they have four children: Carl Alan, Kelly Glenn, Muranda and Kimberly Gail, eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Alan worked for 41 years for US West as a telephone technician. He served a four year LDS mission at the Sigurd cannery with his wife.
Alan is survived by his wife, Barbara Gail Donaldson, Richfield; children: Carl Alan Donaldson, Wellington; Kelly Glenn (Debra) Donaldson, West Jordan; Muranda (Jason) Prestwich, Lehi; and Kimberly Gail (Dale) Anderson, West Valley City. He is also survived by his siblings: Ora Jane (Keith) Steele, Boyd (Sara) Donaldson, Blake (Karen) Donaldson, Norma Lou Prestwich and Susan Merrill. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Richfield 9th Ward Chapel, 159 North 400 West. Viewings will be held at Magleby Mortuary on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and prior to services on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.
