Glenn Blair Johnson, 62, passed away July 8, 2016, in Hays, KS after a brief illness. Blair, the eldest of 7 children, was born in Fort Leonardwood, MO on March 10, 1954 to Glen and Carolyn Johnson.
Blair grew up in Manti, UT and graduated with the class of 1972 from Manti High School. He then started his career as a surveyor in the oil and gas industry. BJ, as he was affectionately known by many, traveled all over the United States working from the Rocky Mountains to the Great Lakes and all places in between. BJ married a Texas girl, Clydeen Shaw which led to putting down roots in south Texas where they raised two children, Justin Blair Johnson, Kenedy, TX and Mariah Kayt Johnson, San Antonio, TX.
You could always find BJ outdoors. He loved to camp, hunt, fish, BBQ and garden. He especially liked to go deep sea fishing out in the Gulf of Mexico. Blair/BJ will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children, parents and siblings: Alan(Paula) Johnson, Delta, UT; McKray(Heidi) Johnson, Manti, UT; Wade (Melanie) Johnson, Manti, UT; Lauren Barker, Manti, UT; Greg(Tiffany) Johnson, Salina, UT; Shauna Barton, South Jordan, UT; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by grandparents, Robert and Maurine Johnson; Bill and Virga Hofer; and uncle, Paul Johnson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Manti Stake Center, 555 East Union St. Friends and family may call prior to services at the church from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Manti City Cemetery.
