Glenda Bushman
Marysvale, Utah
Our loving mom, Glenda Heaps Bushman, 80, passed away and was reunited with our dad on September 19, 2021, passing in St. George, Utah. Glenda was born on November 16, 1940 in Teasdale, Utah to Joseph Melvin and Norma Heaps. She was the fourth child, and second daughter. She was later joined by another sister and brother.
Glenda married Ronald Lee Bushman September 27, 1958. Together they were blessed with four children. After their marriage they moved to Washington for a bit for Dad’s military service, then spent some time in Salt Lake and Wendover but eventually were able to settle back in their beloved Marysvale when they bought Smoot’s Corner from Grandma and Grandpa in 1968, when Darin was only four months old. We all grew up in the store and worked in it from the time we were little. Always being together as a family was the best and our mom was always there for us. It was the perfect way to have a 70s working mom. They spent the remainder of their married life in Marysvale running various successful businesses and contributing to the community. Their last and probably favorite business venture was starting Lizzie and Charlie’s RV park which they sold in 2007 and were able to finally retire. Our parents were an amazing team and accomplished a lot in their lifetime. Dad had a lot of “crazy” (other people’s words, not ours) ideas and Mom always stood by his side and helped make his vision and dream become a reality. She was one of the hardest working people you’d ever meet and could do just about anything she put her mind to. She forever believed in her children and supported them in doing anything they put their minds to. After retirement they spent some time in Quartzsite, AZ and then after Dad passed Mom bought a place in Washington, UT. She was never a fan of winter so this suited her well. Mom’s accomplishments were many but she often said the thing she was most proud of was being a mother and seeing her children become good people. She married Theron Nay in August 2012, they were later divorced.
Glenda is survived by her children: Gary (Belva), Shannon, Shelly (John) and Darin (Keri); her grandchildren: Samantha (Anthony), Sabrina, Adam, Alan, Brooks (Chelsey), Zachary (Robin), Miranda (Wade), Kaylee (Slader), Kyler and Kodah and three great-grandchildren; her sisters: Luann (Arell) and Connie; and her brother, David Brent (Julie); our favorite bonus family Parley and Carol Roundy, their children and too many friends and extended family to even mention. It’s been a good full life!! She is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, brothers, Marion and LeGrand and her parents.
