Glen W Ogden, 86, of Richfield, passed away March 16, 2018, just 40 minutes prior to his older brother, Dale. Glen was born November 5, 1931, in Richfield to Joseph Lerue and Elsie Ward Ogden. He married Delles Rae Cowley, January 1, 1951, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Utah Temple on February 3, 1959.
Glen was an active member of the LDS Church serving in many different capacities, including scoutmaster, bishop, stake president, temple ordinance worker, and sealer in the Manti Utah Temple. He and his wife served together as full-time missionaries in the Orlando Florida Temple Mission.
He enlisted in the Utah National Guard with the 213th Armored Field Artillery Battalion and served in the Korean Conflict. Glen received an honorable discharge after more than 30 years of service. He also fulfilled his civic duty by serving on the Richfield City Council.
Glen enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything that had to do with the outdoors. He especially loved spending time with his family camping and four-wheeling in the mountains. One of his greatest joys was visiting temples all over the United States while traveling with his wife.
By trade, Glen was a farmer and cattleman and taught his children the value of hard work through his example.
He is survived by his wife, Delles; children: Linda (Robert) Deuel, Glenwood; Gloria (Randy) Jackman, Glenwood; Elaine (Bobby) Seim, West Jordan; and Blain (Cathie) Ogden, Elk Ridge; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; siblings: Carol Nuffer, Richfield; Arlene Malchus, Milford; Frances (Robert) Chiea, Cottonwood, CA.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Howard Ogden and Geraldine Ragsdale. His older brother, Dale, followed him in death.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in the Richfield LDS 4th Ward Chapel, 159 North 400 West, Richfield. Friends may call for viewing at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. or at the ward chapel on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery with military honors by the V.F.W.
