Geraldine "Gerrie" LeCheminant Chapman, born March 1, 1937 in Salt Lake City to Edmond Lionel and Ruth Williams LeCheminant returned to her loving Heavenly Father January 4, 2016 in Gunnison. She married her sweetheart, Arthur Clinton Chapman, in the Salt Lake Temple on January 28, 1955. He preceded her in death August 3, 2014.

Gerrie was a loving mother to Christine (Stevan) Childs, Douglas (Bobbie) Chapman, Bruce (Connie) Chapman, Diana (Carlos) Estrada, Lorieann (Adrian) Woodmansee, and Bonnie Cates. She was blessed with 29 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.

Gerrie was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served the Lord for more than 20 years in the Primary. She also served in the Relief Society and Young Women’s programs. She served for many years with her eternal companion in the Jordan River Temple.

She loved to crochet and lovingly created many gifts for family and friends.

Gerrie has 10 brothers and sisters: Ranae (Stan) Brown, Osmond (Ramona) LeCheminant, Vilate (Herb) Allen, Diane (Wayne) Bell, Norma (Don) Shultz, Louise (Jim) Fowlks, Don (Shirley) LeCheminant, Grace (Don) Holt, Ray (Susan) LeCheminant, Stephen (Beverlee) LeCheminant.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, a grandson, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, 3 sisters-in-law and 5 brothers-in-law. She always loved family parties and we know she is enjoying her reunion with those who have gone on before her.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 11, 2016, at 12:00 Noon in the Axtell LDS Ward Chapel, 75 West Center Street, where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Centerfield Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
