Gerald O. Barney

Gerald O. Barney, 75, passed away June 12, 2011 in Panguitch. He was born April 27, 1936 in Escalante to Othello and Roena Lay Barney. He married Carol A Hunt, December 24, 1958 in Escalante.
Gerald bladed roads for most of his life and was a very hard worker. He served as the groundskeeper for the Escalante Cemetary and on the town council for several years. He loved hunting and fishing with his grandkids. He loved to camp and ride his 4-wheeler. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will truly be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Carol of Escalante; children: Jimmy (Ronda) Barney, Escalante; Melanie (Falando Nez) Barney, Escalante; Donnie (Sonya) Barney, Orangeville; and Patricia (Doran Lyman) Barney, Escalante; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Preceded in death by parents and brother, Dale Barney.
Graveside services and interment will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in the Escalante Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
