George Luke Boyter, 85, of Richfield, passed away on May 24, 2013. George was born on November 25, 1927 in Panguitch, UT to Carlisle and Belle LeFevre Boyter.

During World War II George learned to weld in the shipyards in California. George married his lifetime sweetheart Mary Marjorie Peterson on December 18, 1947 in the Manti Temple. He started Boyter Welding and Harley Davidson Sales with his brother Harold.

George moved to Salt Lake City in 1963. He worked for Structural Steel and G.E. Apparatus Shop where he gained international recognition. George was one of a handful of men the federal government selected to weld steam and natural gas turbines used in power plants and nuclear submarines. Because of his skills he was flown across the country to do these repairs for the Navy and other companies. George loved horses, motorcycles, and anything outdoors, but loved his family the "mostest" of all.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie in 1992, and later married Renee Patrick in 2000. George and Renee moved to Enterprise in 2002, returning to Richfield in 2012.

He is survived by his wife Renee Patrick Boyter, daughter, Judy B (Alma) Christensen, of Richfield, UT; son, David Jay (Candy) Boyter, of Chandler,AZ; daughter, Mary Louese (David) Aguirre, of Midvale, UT; 13 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harold (Reta) Boyter, of Richfield, UT.

George is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Marjorie, infant daughter, Carol Marie, parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Richfield 16 th Ward Chapel, 800 North 500 East. Friends may call on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, from 6-8 p.m. and prior to services on Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
