Gary Darwin Schear, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, returned to his Heavenly Father on January 2, 2018, in Panguitch, Utah. He was born on December 1, 1937, in Midway, Utah, to Darwin and Thora McAffee Schear. He grew up hauling milk with his father and continued working in trucking and construction throughout his life. He owned and operated Schear Trucking for many years, hauling milk and livestock. He also worked several construction jobs and hauled hay out of state. He taught his family about a good work ethic and worked until he was physically unable to work any longer.
He married Janice Murdock and together had six children: Brent, Bradley, Bryan, Bill, Bud, Angie; they later divorced.
He married the love of his life, Ruth LyNae Gleave, on October 7, 1977, in Antimony, Utah, and together have had two children: Brandi and Bryce.
He is survived by his wife; children, Brent, Las Vegas, NV; Bryan (Dixie) Schear, Richfield; Bud (Pinky) Schear, Mt. Pleasant; Angie Anderson, American Fork; Brandi Schear, Circleville; Bryce (Miranda) Schear, New Harmony; sister-in-law: Tori Schear; 28 grandchildren (and one on the way); numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers-and-sisters-in-law: Randy and Janet Gleave, Veldon and Jackie Mitchell, Ron and LaRene Staples, and Ricky and Jamey Gleave.
He is preceded in death by his parents; children, Bradley (Lisa) Schear, Bill Schear; son-in-law, Larry Anderson; sister, Sharlene Lloyd; brother-in-law, Ray Lloyd; father-and-mother-in-law, Scott and Beth Gleave.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in the Circleville 2nd Ward Chapel. Friends may call Thursday evening at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield, from 6-8 p.m. or Friday at the ward chapel in Circleville from 9:00 to 10:30. Burial will be at the Widtsoe Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
