Garn Riley Barnson, 89, passed away February 17, 2011 in Provo, Utah. He was born October 6, 1921 in Junction, to Riley Ormandy and Nellie Blanche Elder Barnson. He married Bobbie Laree Gleave, December 25, 1945 in Kingston. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple July 16, 1963.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie of Junction; children, Robert (Ann) Barnson, Enoch; Barry (Linda) Barnson, Escalante; Willie (Kathy) Barnson, Junction; Lynn (Laurie) Barnson, Henderson, NV; Jennie (Linn) Bogart, Hurricane; Lonnie Barnson, Junction; 27 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elaine Riddle, Audrey (Glen) Weidauer and LaNell (Johnny) Ambrose; brothers-in-law, Todd Riddle, Jack Gleave and Delano Ratcliffe; sister-in-law, Irva Sudweeks; Special Friend and WWII Service Comrade, Merle Trapp.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Nellie Barnson and step-mother, Norma Spencer Barnson; grandson, Jonathan Bogart; great-grandchildren, Robert Coy Barnson, Britney Barnson; siblings, Irene (Marion) Ackerman, Ann Riddle, Billie Dean Ratcliffe; brother-in-law, Kenyon Riddle.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Circleville 1 st LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield Monday evening from 6 to 8 and at the ward chapel in Circleville Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. in the Widtsoe Cemetery with military rites by the Piute Post #7561 and the Utah Honor Guard. Funeral Directors, Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.

He was raised in Kingston by his grandparents. In his early years, he helped with the construction of the roadways through Bryce and Zion National Parks. He served in the European Theatre during WWII. He was a long haul truck driver for over 50 years, with Garrett Freightlines and Kaiabab. He, along with his wife Bobbie, sold hay on the Indian reservation in Arizona for many years.
