Fred N. McCoard, 57, of Salina took the angel flight home on March 13, 2014 in Provo. He was born October 12, 1956 in Cedar City to Robert and Lorraine Newby McCoard. He married Valerie Dawn Houghton, June 17, 1983 in Aurora. They have three children: Robert, Jeremy and Angel, who were the love of his life.
Fred worked at SUFCO Coal Mine for 25 years and loved working with his hands building stuff on his time off. He always was helping someone with their vehicles.
Fred is survived by his wife; children: Robert H., Jeremy William (Corie) and Angel Le; father; grandson, Andrew; adopted daughter, Julia McCoard; brothers: Bart, Allen, and Scott McCoard. Preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, 50 South 100 West, Richfield, where friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Salina Eastside Cemetery.
