Fred Gene Frischknecht, 63, of Manti, passed away on June 23, 2019. He was born in Gunnison, UT on January 25, 1956 to Kay Lamar and Donna Jean Madsen Frischknecht.

Fred was raised in Manti where he graduated from Manti High School. He graduated from Snow College with his Associates degree. Fred served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Anchorage Alaska mission. He served in many church callings throughout his life.

Fred married the love of his life, Shirley Dean Tait on August 16, 1979 in the Manti Temple. He worked various jobs around Sanpete with his most recent being Ace Hardware and Alvey Lumber. He was a people person and always wanted to know what he could do to help you. He enjoyed his wood projects, making temple plaques, and giving them away to friends and neighbors.

Fred enjoyed working in his yard, riding 4-wheelers and going on long mountain rides. He loved supporting his grandchildren and they were his top priority. Fred loved spending time with his siblings at their family outings, eating mutton chops and sour dough. He spoke fondly of working with his father in the family business. He was a hard worker and this was evident by his callused hands.

Fred is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Alyssia (Jason) Stevenson, Brennen Frischknecht, Devin (Kristin) Frischknecht; siblings, John (Susan) Frischknecht, Steven (Kathy) Frischknecht, Paul (Marla) Frischknecht, Kent (Jennifer) Frischknecht, Joe (Barbara) Frischknecht, Kristine (Doug) Evertsen, Mary (Rod) Anderson, and Ann (Val) Anderson. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tiffany and grandson, Ryker.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Manti Tabernacle. Friends may call on Friday, June 28, 2019 at the church from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and also prior to services from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Manti City Cemetery.
