Florine Rose Weeks

August 9, 1939 — February 23, 2022

Florine Weeks
Sigurd, Utah

Florine Rose Schultze Weeks, 82, passed away February 23, 2022 at her home in Sigurd.  She was born on August 9, 1939 in San Francisco, California to William Albert and Rhoda Birdell Coryell Schultze. She married DeVon Eugene Weeks on October 26, 1957 in Reno, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized on August 12, 1961 in the Los Angeles Temple. Von preceded her in death on January 8, 2018.

Florine loved her Savior Jesus Christ and emulated the principles He taught through service, both in her family and community.  As the heart of her family, Florine wanted her loved ones to know that she knew and loved her Heavenly Father and wanted to help each one learn of their heavenly home and how to return there as an eternal family. She joyfully shared her testimony from her heart, that same testimony learned as a child from her most beloved parents.

Florine loved her family and truly considered almost everyone to be family. She had a gift for seeing another's perspective and resolving conflict. She taught that repentance and new beginnings are possible. She connected her ancestors with her loved ones by telling their stories to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. After hearing these stories no one could resist loving the people Florine loved. She gave warm hugs that made a sorrowing heart soften and feel loved.

Florine loved to cook by taste not by recipe. It was a delicious treat to be able to eat at her home. There was always extra room for more people in her heart and at her table. Through her example and teaching, Florine persistently taught her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids how to work hard to build their lives (and by chasing them down and bringing them back to the work when they escaped). Florine also had a gift for finding amazing treasures where no one else could, lovingly dubbed "The DI Queen" (a gift she has passed to many of her posterity)!!

Grandma loved to sing and dance. She was always willing to play games and get involved in the fun. She has raised a family of practical jokers, comedians, and faithful friends who love and live to serve their Heavenly Father and their fellow men on this earthly journey.  Our lives are forever graced with the spirit of her love and testimony.

Survived by her children: Von (Jeannie) Weeks, Escondido, CA; Florine (Ron) Meacham, Sigurd, UT; Dianna Powell and Janice (Don) Greenburg, both of Castle Dale, UT; James (Kristi) Weeks, St. George, UT; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Weeks, Provo, UT; 38 grandchildren and 85 great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine Pierce, Bountiful, UT.

Also preceded in death by her parents; sons: William Weeks and Don Weeks; grandsons, Scott Larsen, Matt Larsen; great-grandson, Justin Meacham; and her siblings: Robert (Joan) Fletcher, Genevive (LeVar) Bevan, Ethel Fletcher, Juanita Tholke, Vernon Fletcher, Lorraine Kursa, and Audrey (Jack) Lewis; brother-in-law, Melvin Pierce.
