Ferrell E. Brinkerhoff

Tropic, Utah

Ferrell E. Brinkerhoff, 69, returned into the arms of his Heavenly Father on November 27, 2015 in Tropic, surrounded by his five children and loving wife after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Ferrell was born in Panguitch, Utah on July 5, 1946 to Eldon "Dutch" and Ora LeFevre Brinkerhoff. He married Gwen Jackson August 24, 1973 in the St. George Temple.

Ferrell loved his wife, children and grandchildren; his family was the center of his universe. He looked forward to the family deer hunt every year where he was always the supplier of ample snacks and drinks. The annual family camp out on the East Fork was the highlight of his summer; he would start planning the menu, the four-wheeler ride and the schedule of events at least 3 months in advance. He always anticipated a large family gathering for moving cows to and from Deer Range in the spring and the fall.

Ferrell started his career in the food service industry with Rocky Mountain Inc. and was known throughout the county as the "Twinky Man." For the last 16 years he was employed with Nicholas & Company where he received several accolades and awards for his hard work. He loved his job because of the friendships he developed with his associates and coworkers.

Ferrell had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Ferrell’s love for the Gospel grew during his service as an LDS missionary in England. His testimony continued to grow while serving his family and friends in many church positions.

He will be remembered for the love of his family, the community and the church. We love him very much and will miss him greatly, we hope they have brockle face cows and diet coke in heaven.

He is survived by his wife, Gwen; and children: Shane (Alexa), Jeff (Andrea), Natalie (Eugene), Cody and Kyler (Kamrie); 12 grandchildren; siblings: Louise (Jim), Raymond (Ronelda), Oretta (Doug), Danny (Wendy), Rosie (Jeff) and Donna (Link).

He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and brothers: Dennis and Eldon, Jr. "Binky", and father-in-law, Lloyd Rodney Jackson; brother-in-law, Lamar Shakespear; nephews: Darrell Shakespear and Terrell Chynoweth.

The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Garfield Memorial Hospital and Clinic.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 3, at 12:00 Noon in the Tropic Ward Chapel where friends may call on Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm or on Thursday from 10 to 11:30 am. Burial will be in the Tropic Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guest book www.maglebymortuary.com
