    Faye Huntsman Barney of Richfield passed away peacefully on December 6, 2023 at the beautiful age of 100.  Faye was born September 22, 1923 in Aurora to Ira Huntsman Jr. and Alfretta Mason Huntsman.
     Faye met Orean Barney when and his friend were in Aurora driving an old Model A Ford. He and the other young man asked Faye and her friend if they wanted a ride. Mom saw Dad and said, “He’s cute, I’ll take him.” They were married March 28, 1939 and the marriage was solemnized December 3, 1980. 
    When World War II began they were living in Magna, and Orean was drafted and Faye did her part by working at Baccus Powder plant, making bullets for the troops. Faye also worked at the Little Wonder Café as a waitress in Richfield. She was the best seamstress making clothes for her children and anyone that needed something. 
    Faye was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a full-time caretaker of many grandkids and family members. With great wisdom and understanding she has guided and cared for her family for generations. 
    Faye served her Heavenly Father in many ways and callings throughout her life for all in need. 
    The last few years she has been at Stonehenge, where she appreciated all of the employees and friends she met along the way. We would like to thank all of those who took such great care of our sweet angel: Miss Faye.
    Faye is survived by her children: Maynard O. (Joyce Bartholomew) Barney, Monroe; Fay Loy Barney (Dennis) Crane, Monticello; Rocky Val (Philena Willson) Barney, Richfield. Faye had 43 grandchildren, 152 great-grandchildren, 57 great-great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-great-grandchildren.
    Faye was preceded in death by her parents; love of her life, Orean; daughter Betty Jean (Ron) Farnsworth; grandchildren: Rick, Ryan, Ronnie Dee Farnsworth, and Stanford Crane.
    Faye’s sisters were Hilda, Theo , Fontell, Nila, Zelma, Vione; and her brothers were Don, Guy, Dean, Rex.
    Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 12:00 Noon in the Richfield 16th Ward, 800 North 500 East, Richfield. Viewing will be from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at the church.
