Fanny Pat Davis Manning, 72, passed away June 15, 2016 in West Valley City, Utah, due to complications following surgery. Pat was born January 26, 1944 in Richfield, Utah to Elwood Franklin and Chloe Savage Davis. Her youth was spent in Annabella, Utah, graduating from South Sevier High School in Monroe, Utah, and from what is now Southern Utah University, in Cedar City, Utah.
Pat taught physical education at South Sevier High School before settling in St. George, Utah, where she met and married Frank Elbert "Bud" Manning in 1983. The marriage was solemnized in the Jordan River Temple in 2015. Bud was a veteran of the Vietnam War from which he suffered physically and mentally throughout his life. From St. George, Pat and Bud moved to Lincoln, Montana, and then to Plains, Montana, where they lived on the outskirts of town on the banks of the Clark Fork River. They made many close friends here. They were members of the Plains Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Pat served as a visiting teacher and Bud was baptized. Bud passed away on July 3, 2013. His ashes were scattered in his beloved Montana mountains above Plains.
Pat is survived by her brother, John Elwood (Dixie) Davis, West Valley City; sister, Doneal Williams, Salt Lake City; and 10 nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; stillborn brother, twin to Doneal; brother-in-law, Warren L. Williams.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, where friends may call from 10:00 -10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Annabella Cemetery.
