Evelyn Jean Dalton Whitlock, 81, passed away March 9, 2019, from leukemia at her home in Monroe. She was born July 22, 1937, in the family home in Circleville, Utah. She was the fourth of five children born to Robert Elwood and Eva Norton Dalton. She grew up on the outskirts of town on the family farm where she loved animals and learned to work hard. She graduated from Piute High School.

Evelyn married George Q. Whitlock on September, 8, 1955, in the Manti Temple. He passed away March 29, 1987. They made their home in Monroe. While raising five children, Mom also served in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in several capacities including as a Primary teacher, librarian, and Relief Society president, and as a faithful visiting teacher.

Mom also worked for a while as a projectionist at the Carol Theater in Monroe and helped Dad when he was custodian at Monroe Elementary. She loved her family, as well as her fish, various dogs, and assorted cats. Her family will miss her, but knows she is now happily reunited with her family.

She is survived by her children: DeLoa (Stephen) Sharp, Bountiful; Andrew Whitlock, Monroe; Kendall (Arvyne) Whitlock, Monroe; DeVon Whitlock, Monroe; Steffin (Brenda) Whitlock, Annabella; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; siblings: Stan Dalton, Circleville; Delos (Ann) Dalton, Springville; Tressa Dalton,Cedar City.

She is also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Arla (Richard) Westwood; sister-in-law, Lahoma Dalton.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Monroe 1st LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery.
