    Evelyn Mackay Frandsen of Centerfield passed away May 1, 2023, of natural causes at 102 years of age. She was born to Harold Moses Mackay and Ruth Ferdina Hintze Mackay on July 15, 1920, in Salt Lake City. 
    She attended the University of Utah and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Education in 1941.  She started her first job as a teacher at Gunnison Valley High School in the fall of 1941.    She met her husband, Allen, while he was on leave from the Army and they were married in the the Salt Lake Temple on March 30, 1942.  Evelyn followed Allen wherever he was stationed.  When he was released from the military, they settled in Clarion and later moved to Centerfield.  After giving birth to eight children, she went back to teaching business at Richfield High School for 14 years.  She also served her community as PTA President and as a member of the Centerfield City Council. 
    Evelyn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings.  She served as Relief Society president, Primary president, Young Women’s counselor, Spiritual Living teacher in Relief Society, Gospel Doctrine teacher, nursery leader as well as having various other responsibilities.  She and Allen served a mission together in the Philippine Baguio Mission for 18 months.  She also served in the Manti Utah Temple for over 22 years.   
    Evelyn loved to travel and she and Allen traveled all around the world.  She learned to love the people throughout the world, but truly loved the United States of America. 
    She was married to Allen for over 80 years and they officially became Utah’s longest married couple in 2022. 
    She is survived by her children: Joan Gardner, Rita Gardner, Russell (Christie) Frandsen, Tracy (Patricia) Frandsen, Kelly (Kathy) Frandsen; daughter-in-law, Shauna (Mike) Frei; 39 grandchildren; 105 great-grandchildren,  4 great-great-grandchildren, 2 expected great-grandchildren and 1 expected great-great-grandchild. 
    She is preceded in death by her husband, Allen; parents; siblings; sons: Ronald, Mark and Myles; son-in-law, Douglas Gardner; seven grandchildren:  Bradley Gardner, Cynthia Gardner, Christi Gardner, Matthew Gardner, Victor Gardner, Jacob Frandsen and Isaac Frandsen; great-granddaughter, Kathrine Anderson. 
    Funeral services will be held Friday, May 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Centerfield 1st  Ward Chapel, where friends may call Thursday evening, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. or Friday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Centerfield Cemetery.
