Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and best friend, Eugene Richard Vigil, 69, passed away April 21, 2014 in Richfield with his loving wife by his side. He was born July 20, 1944 in Delnort, Colorado to Felix and Mary Garcia Vigil. He married Julaine Ekker, January 29, 1980 in Price.

Richard served in the Navy during the Viet Nam War. He loved horses, 4-wheelers and fishing. A people person, Richard could talk to anyone. He loved being a grandfather and especially being called "Papo".

He will be greatly missed.

Survived by his wife of Richfield; children: Juanita Lay, Marysvale; Connie Simpson, Salina; Christopher (Justine) Vigil, Aurora, CO; Mandi Robinson, Salina; Malodee (Jay) Barnson, Rock Springs, WY; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; siblings: Mercedes Juaraz, and Anita (Mike) Sallaz, both of Colorado; Augustine (Jeannie), Logan.

Preceded in death by parents; grandson, Troy Simpson; siblings: Cathy Stout, Philip David Vigil.

The family wishes to thank Intermountain Homecare Hospice for their loving care of Richard.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 25, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Richfield 8th Ward Chapel, 800 North 500 East. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Magleby Mortuary and Friday at the ward chapel from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery with military rites by the V.F.W.
