Eugene White, Monroe, Utah
Eugene Ernest White, 84 of Monroe, passed away February 11, 2024 after a long battle with mesothelioma cancer. Eugene was born to Harold and Ruth Pennock White in Plainwell, Michigan in his grandparent’s home on August 10,1939. He was the second oldest of his 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
He learned to work hard on the farm at an early age. He could drive a tractor by the age of 5 and change a clutch on a tractor by himself at 13 years old. His last year of high school he worked for a foreign car dealership as a mechanic. He was a great mechanic. If something was broken, he could fix it. He worked in various copper mines in several states. He had the best garden around and loved sharing his produce with friends and neighbors. If you ever had a question about gardening or mechanics Eugene could answer it. He worked on many 4-wheelers and side by sides for his friends in Monroe.
Eugene met his first wife Carolyn at a skating rink. It took him almost a year to get up the nerve to talk to her. They dated for 9 months and married June 28, 1958. They had two daughters Deborah Ann and Melody Leah. The family was sealed in the Mesa Temple February 26,1971. Carolyn passed away February 19, 2003.
Eugene held many church callings, Elder's quorum secretary, Elder’s quorum and Sunday school teacher, ward clerk and scout leader.
He met Marlene Parsons Weeks and they were married March 18, 2004. Eugene gained two daughters and a son. He was a big part of their lives.
Eugene is survived by his wife Marlene; 5 children: Deborah Ann Webster, Melody (Joe) DeMaris, Teresa (Don) Johnson, Steve (Janice) Weeks and Kathy (Sam) Livingston; siblings: Jim White, Dorothy Hughes, Susan White, Lucy Livermore, Aaron White, and Steve White; 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Eugene made friends wherever he went, was loved by many, he will be dearly missed.
He is also preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Patrick Webster; siblings: David White, Gary White, Robert White, Katherine White: brother-in-law, Dean Brewer.
There will be a celebration of life held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, which will be followed by a burial in the Monroe Cemetery.
