Ethel D Nielson, 93, of Manti, passed away on January 9, 2015 in Mt. Pleasant. Ethel was born on April 10, 1921 to Roger and Delora Paulsen Daniels in Ephraim, UT.

Ethel married Max Nielson on June 22, 1939 in Price, UT. He preceded her in death on October 26, 1989.

Ethel enjoyed many activities and being involved in the community. She loved working in her yard and was a member of the Activity Club, Manti Beautification Committee, Judge of Elections and the Candlelight Recipient in 2005. Ethel was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as a primary teacher, secretary of the Relief Society and Temple worker.

She is survived by her children: Maxine (Rex) Christensen of Centerfield; Lee (Velvet) Nielson of Centerfield and Randy Nielson of Manti; Siblings, LuDeen, Roy, Merril and Alfred; 19 Grandchildren, 40 Great-Grandchildren and 10 Great-Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; children, Deanna and Roger; siblings, Paul, Dorothy, John, Rawlin, Richard and Ferrol and grandson, Rodney.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Manti 8 ^th Ward Chapel, 300 South Main. Friends may call on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the church from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and prior to services on Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Manti City Cemetery.
